Oudezijds Achterburgwal next to the Old Men's Home
Here Black Truy, for whom Van Gogh did occasional jobs, had her brothel. He met Annie there
on January 12, 1775 and immediately fell in love with her. The brothel was on the left or right
side of the Old Men's Home, whose gate you see on the photo.
